Philip first entrusted his on-air credibility to me more than fifty years ago. He was possessed of an exquisite balance between manifest neutrality, clarity, calm ...and a subtle and mischievous wit. Kindest regards to his family, and thanks for the memories of a thorough gentleman.

I was so saddened to hear of Mr. Sherry's passing. He was one of the first people I got to meet when coming to New Zealand to sing at the Auckland Eucharistic Convention several years ago from the USA. He was its MC. He was kind, professional, friendly, and was a good man. Prayers are with the family, God bless. May you be comforted in the joy of knowing he is with our loving Saviour.Kind regards, Joe, Kelly, Joey and Grace Moorman

SHERRY, Philip James. Attendees at our 2021 Eucharistic Convention were saddened last Sunday at the announcement by Bishop Michael Gielen that our dear friend Philip had passed away earlier that day. Philip was the frontman for our convention for some twenty three years and was pivotal in establishing an event that still flourishes today. Condolences to Margaret and the large Sherry family from the current and past organisers of the Auckland Eucharistic Convention, Deacon Mark and Sue Rivalland, John and Beth Porteous, Bill and Anna Moore. Rest in peace dear friend.
