NORTH, Philip Edward (Phil). Died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on 1 May 2020, aged 58 years. Loving husband and best friend to Maree, fantastic dad to Marion and Jared. Beloved son of Ken and Jean North, and well loved younger brother of Paul and Jackie. Will be missed by loyal pal, Remy, (dog). A family service to celebrate Phil's life will be held on Thursday 7 May at 10 am and will also be webcast due to attendance of the service being limited to 10 people per lockdown requirements. We met Phil and Remy when dog walking .We knew he wasn't well but he never dwelt on it and had a real zest and positivity about him and loved taking Remy down the beach.He was really proud of his family and we pass on our sympathy to them.On behalf of all Phil's friends at Cornwallis Beach we will miss you.

I first met Phil when he was Chair of the Te Atatu Peninsula Business Association. He contracted me to manage the association and I have been there ever since. He was a kind, thoughtful, positive, pragmatic man and I am very saddened that the world has lost him. My very best wishes to his family.
