Philip GUTHRIE Obituary

GUTHRIE, Philip Joseph. On the 6 July 2022, after a fine innings, Philip aged 97, peacefully altered his status from living to 'Visiting Ancestors'. Reuniting with his loving wife of 44 years, Thelma (nee McKain), parents Agnes and Michael, his brothers and sisters-in-law Bernard and Saida, Terry and Colleen and youngest brother Maurice, first cousins Kathleen and Margaret Guthrie. Forever in the heart of his only child Julie, cherished by his granddaughters Laryssa and Rowarne, grandson-in-law Glenn and adoring great-grandsons Aryn and Rayn, and the nieces and nephews and their families, who especially enriched his later years. Heartfelt thanks to neighbours, friends and well-wishers who kindly chatted to and looked out for Philip on his frequent jaunts around Ellerslie. Gratitude also to the caring staff of Summerset Heritage Park, Ellerslie who kept him safe and well, since May 2021.
