Petronella van GISBERGEN Obituary

van GISBERGEN, Petronella Elizabeth (Nellie). After a full and elegant life, Nellie passed away peacefully in her home on 4th June 2025, aged 95 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Steve (Stephanus). Much loved mother of Robert, Christine and Janet. Mother-in-law of Robert Bailey and the late Karen. Loved Oma of Samantha, Shane, Lauren, Alex and James and great- grandson, Lachlan. She leaves a great hole in our lives and a legacy of how to live well. While this is a sad time for us, we are delighted to think of Oma, reunited with Opa, dear Jan and Karen and fully restored in Heaven. A service for Nellie will be held at the Manukau Memorial Gardens Chapel, 361 Puhinui Road, Papatoetoe on Friday 13th June, at 1:00pm. For those wishing to view the service via livestream, please contact Grahams Funeral Services (09) 2368919.

My deepest sympathy to the family with their sad loss. Nellie was a lovely lady. I got to know her through my husband John. They came out to New Zealand on the same boat, but lost touch because John went to the South Island. But they found each other again and became good friends. I have very good memories of them. Dear Nellie, rest in peace.
