Peter Alexander WATERS
WATERS, Peter Alexander (Pete). Born November 30, 1974. Passed away on November 19, 2021. He gave cancer a good run for its money but it cheated him of his 47th birthday. Loved husband of Alicia, adored Pete-Pa of Buster, Moe and Frankie, wonderful son to Averill and John and amazing brother to Erica, Vivienne and Rich, David and Miriam, loved uncle to his nephews and nieces. A legend to his friends. Peter's exuberance for life brought laughter and happiness to all who knew him. His positive spirit is an inspiration that will live on. Sail on Pete. May the winds be fair, the seas calm, the anchorages sheltered and offer lots of opportunities for barbecues.

The Sea is calm now and you may rest at peace Pete. The glistening waters of the Waitemata will look after your lovely Wife Alicia with Buster, Moe and Frankie, along with your friends and family for support. You have done so much for the marine industry and bought joy to all the boat owners who you have known and moved. We acknowledge your great yachting and racing career and we know your children will be so proud of you. Next time we are out in a bay, the sun will rise with a sparkle, we will hear Pete chuckle in the background and know that we were so lucky to have known you Pete! Your friendship is close to our hearts and we will miss your smiling face. Xoxo Brett & Nicky Seagar

Pete seems to have been a fixture in the sailing scene forever - always laughing, always up for mischief, always there. I will never forget him absolutely rockin´ the Blues Brothers song on stage at Hamilton Island Race Week. Back on the dance floor, he was John Travolta meets pissed yachtie. He fitted in so much fun and occasionally there was an equally serious side - a totally good guy and generous in supporting sporting and industry initiatives. I didn´t know him well but I´ve loved reading other comments on this page and I can only imagine the huge gap he leaves behind in his family, along with a huge amount of love and great memories. My condolences to all of you. Rebecca xx

A privilege to know you Pete. Your optimism in the battle that we both shared, was and still is, an inspiration. Life is not fair; you went way too young buddy. My deepest sympathies to your family.

Pete, What a man. Amazing father, husband to Alicia, Dad to Moe, Frankie and Buster and a special friend to all. Pete, "Happy Days" was your motto, and you sure were a man of your word. You lived each day to the full, you gave love to everyone you met and it was an absolute privilege to spend the many special times with you over the last 15 years. Thank you for the laughter, introducing us to many new friends, the beautiful impromptu speech at our wedding, the rum and ginger cocktails. Thanks for bringing so much joy to us, the excitement by the regular phone calls from you and seeing the "mister x" and "watermark" in the bay. The dive missions together, and lending your special blazer to Jon for the night ! Your humour - always on point, and the cheekiness - man, you could get away with anything! Your personality really shines through your beautiful children, Frankie, Moe and Buster. Rest easy mate, we will raise a glass (maybe a rum cocktail) at Catherine Bay this summer. X x x

WATERS, Peter Alexander (Pete). Born November 30, 1974. Passed away on November 19, 2021. Pete has been a main stalwart of the MRX owners' community having been an owner of MRX1994, Chairman of MRX Yachting Ltd and Trustee shareholder in the fleet. All owners and crews will count themselves as lucky to have been Pete's friend and will recall the many wonderful moments that he has brought into our lives as we watched him lead our MRX Yachting operation, thoroughly enjoying himself and causing all sorts of laughter on the way. We will all miss him.
