Peter TAYLOR Obituary

TAYLOR, Peter John (Mr Lucky). 22 September 1946 to 19 December 2024 It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Peter checked out on his own terms, after a long battle with Amyloidosis - an incurable blood cancer. Peter was not a demonstrative man. But his love for his family ran deep. Much loved husband and best mate of Colleen for almost 54 years. Proud Dad of Matthew and Debbie, Davey and Rachel, Luke and Monique, Kent and Emma, and the late Richard. He adored the grandchildren, his beautiful granddaughters Rosie, Phoebe, Penny and Tilly, and those amazing grandsons, Paul, Jack, Eddie, Evan, Ronan and Leon. His only regret in life was that he would not see these young people grow up and reach their full potential. He was however proud to be told before he died that Evan had been admitted to Law School. Peter was many things to many people, a loyal and generous friend, fisherman, pigeon fancier, follower of horse racing, keen gardener and dedicated triathlete for over 30 years. He competed many times in Ironman both in New Zealand and overseas in France, America and Switzerland. He was a legend in the wine world, wine was his great passion, his knowledge of it was vast and he shared that knowledge generously with many. A man of integrity with a high moral compass. We will love you and miss you forever. Your suffering is over, go gently into the night our beautiful man. A private family ceremony has been held. Communications to Taylor family, P.O.
