We lived at 200 St.Andrews Road. That was opposite the Palmer's house at 56 Selwyn Road. Peter was the oldest of 4 boys, and two girls. He was an amateur radio operator,
ZL1BM was his call-sign. The family had hard times when his father was made redundant during the 1930s depression, but the Palmers were an example to us all.My sympathy to his family, and his sister Margaret.

My husband John George and I have known Peter since 1998. When John passed away six years ago, Peter sent me a beautiful card with Orua Bay. In it he said he considered John as his best friend. He has even taken John to Orua Bay for a day. John was most impressed. Peter always wanted to take my son Joel and I as well to Orua Bay, but that is something that will not be. Peter was such a gentleman. He once told me during a car ride that he did all the wood work at the front at the Diocesan school for girls chapel what a humble, talented man. He uses to being fruits from his garden to church. He is truly blessed to have been able to see so many generation s...33 great grand children wow!!! My father-in-law is the same age as Peter and he does not have a single great grand child! Peter is truly blessed. God bless you all. We are honoured to have known Peter. My husbans and I attwndes hia 90th. What a privilege.Thank you .Kind regards, Susan John
