Such a lovely man we feel blessed to have had in our lives. We met Pete as our school bus driver. One of my favourite memories of him was Valentine´s Day when my eldest had only been catching for a couple of weeks and was very late home. I was starting to panic when he arrived with the biggest smile on his face, Pete had stopped to get the entire bus slushies for a treat! He was so loved by so many, I will miss seeing him and catching up. Sending love and prayers, the Gilchrist and Price families.

I met Pete in 2016 when he and Lorene opened their home to let me stay during a visit to NZ. I remember how kind he was and how patient he was when offering guidance and counsel. What struck me was just how 'solid as a rock' he was, always busy, always helping, always surrounded by loving people. He embodied these key ingredients that make up a GOOD LIFE and what an example he left for the rest of us! He will be missed!!! Lots of love to Lorene (Weens) and Brad!

Peter, a man who loved God with great passion and this same passion flowed into all he did & flowed out to everyone he connected with.
I can easily imagìne the look of pure joy & wonder on his face as he stepped into heaven & met Jesus & hear him say "I'm here! WOW, I'm here!!!"
It's been a privilege to know him & call him friend.
Love to all the family. You have lost a great totara tree

What a blessing it was to know you Peter. You were one of the most kindest, caring, patient people I know. You were Jesus hands and feet here on earth. I remember camping trips with airbeds that constantly deflated and the time you cheekily stopped off and bought restaurant dessert for yourself and Brent and returned home and sat at the dinner table and ate them while we were trying to put together a homemade dessert for everyone. I still smile at the time time we rode to the theatre in your big bus, just six of us. It was a treat, and we got free parking right outside!!! You will be missed.

Pete, will be remembered as a kind, gentle man. A man who loved the Lord Jesus Christ and showed it by the way he loved people. He always greeted with a smile and big hug and genuinely listened to what you had to say. Always happy to support a need with helping as the situation required.
Pete will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

My first connection with Pete was over a bus! I was training the NZ bus team on how to use the new BDCs that were being installed, he asked if I'd be training him, and I said no - I was only training NZ Bus staff. But being a bus person was enough for Pete!
That was at the first bible study I attended with him and Lor. We spent many years after that fellowshipping together with the Lord. Pete was the one we turned to for Christian advice and counsel because he knew his bible so well and loved God so wholeheartedly. He was a gentleman and a gentle man and if I were describe him in one word, I would say that he was noble. I so appreciate the kindness he always showed me, the friendship he gave me. It was an honour to know him and I will always carry him in my heart. 'Til we meet again, Pete, hamba kakuhle

Peter was the most lovely man I have met in recent years. A kindhearted gentleman, I had the pleasure of working with him during our school holiday programmes. Seeing his smiley face in the morning to collect the children and hearing about his trip to Fiji, made my day. As I told him just a few weeks ago, I couldn´t do the programmes without him, and that the children looked forward to his bus trips, with many booking in just for the journey. I am extremely grateful to him and will miss him dearly.
