I look back on the years that Peter entered my life as a colleague for all things Maths. I will treasure the conversations - agreements and disagreements, he certainly knew how to make people think. His contribution to education and mathematics in particular will continue.

Peter was a friend from high school and university and ongoing personal contact. Although my wife and I have been living many years overseas we kept in touch. Peter was always thoughtful, interested and caring with the capacity to be a true friend. I will cherish the memories of him.
Condolences to the family.

I had the privilege of working with Peter on the Numeracy Project for a number of years in the early 2000's.
What an exceptional leader, motivator, and great friend. He had so much knowledge to share. We all learned so much from Peter as he was an excellent deliverer and did so in a way that could be easily understood.
I am so grateful for all he did for Mathematics Education.
He will be sorely missed.
Deepest sympathy to all of Peter's family.
Kindest thoughts.
