Peter HANSEN Obituary

HANSEN, Peter Edward (Peter). Born May 11, 1936. Passed away on November 04, 2021. Peter was loved and respected by those who knew him. A recipient of the Bertrand Russell Award and former President of the NZ Association of Rationalists and Humanists, Peter was a strong supporter of the environment and the arts. Father to Peter, Christian (deceased), Shane, Emile (deceased), Aniva, and Karl. Grandfather to Nicole, Harrison, Callan Rose, Ethan, and Kristen. Great-grandfather to Luka, Hector, Edward, Jonah and Sonny. Enthusiastic chess opponent to long-time friend Cyril. In accordance with Peter's wishes, there will be no funeral service. His family will come together in private to remember him.

We were recently reminiscing about the passing away of our dear father Jim Bell who passed away in 2006 and our thoughts went straight to your father. The reason being was Dad was a member of the NZ Assoc. of the Rationalist and Humanist Soc and your father was the Officiater at our Dads funeral. We would just like to pass on our sincere appreciation. He did a wonderful job of helping us celebrate our father's life and we have been left with such beautiful memories. We cannot express how much your dads kindness comforted us during this sad time. We just wanted you to know that. Thank you from the Bell Family.
