Peter GILLETT Obituary

GILLETT, Peter William. Born 5 September 1948 Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Monday 12 April 2021 after a long illness. Loved son of the late Dr John and Dottie Gillett. Much loved and cherished father of Simon, the late Stephanie, and Aimee. Respected and loved father-in-law to Tracy and Paul. Proud and loving grandpa to Tom, Scarlett, Archer and Ava. Special caring friend of Mel and Phil and will be missed by the dogs Rupert and Winston. Many thanks to the wonderful care from the doctors and nursing staff at Auckland City Hospital and the Care Centre Summerset Retirement Village. A service will be held at on Monday 19 April at 2pm at The Chapel, King's School, 258 Remuera Road followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peter's name to St John Ambulance.

Very sorry to receive this sad news. Peter was the "born leader" of the Kings Prep "class of 54" and thereafter. Probably the best all-round athlete of his year. But he remained friendly to all. We kept in touch (just) despite living in different hemispheres. I am not surprised at the many expressions of affection and support from his family and friends.

GILLETT, Peter William. Passed away on 12th April 2021. Dearest Uncle Pete, may you rest in peace. Thank you for all the wonderful memories, for the lifetime of love and support you have shown me, for your dry wit and so many laughs, for being so caring and wonderfully loyal. You are loved and held dear by so many. May you always be remembered for making us all smile. Give my love to Dottie and Dad. I'll always be thankful to have had you in my life, love Michele xx
