CROSBIE, Peter Douglas - Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on September 20, 2017, at the age of 64 with family at his side. Beloved husband of Nancy Sayers-Crosbie. Loving father of Erin (Paul Straughan) and Marcie (Miguel Pereira). Cherished Bonka of Colton, Garnet, Max, and Franklin. Survived by his brother Warren (Deborah), niece Stephanie, and Nancy's son, Jeffrey Sayers. Peter was a goalie who played all his minor hockey in Burlington and then played Junior A for the St. Catharines Black Hawks and London Knights. His team won the OHA Championship in 1971 (St. Catharines) and he was named to the OMJHL All-Star Second Team: 1972-73 (London). He was drafted by both the Boston Bruins and the Los Angeles Sharks in the 1973 NHL and WHA Amateur Drafts. He played for Boston (AHL); Cape Cod, Binghamton (NAHL); and Providence (AHL). After he retired, he had a 20 year career in the graphic arts industry and was president of Crosbie Interiors, a commercial painting company in Toronto. Peter was a Trillium Gift of Life donor upon his passing. Peter was a proud Mason, he was Past Master of Temple Lodge #649 Oshawa, member of Pentalpha Chapter 28, Royal Arch Masons, Oshawa, St. John the Almoner Preceptory, Knights Templar, Oshawa, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, Valley of Toronto and Moore Sovereign Consistory in Hamilton. Peter will be sadly missed by his masonic brethren. A celebration of Peter's life will be held at Oshawa Masonic Hall, 91 Centre St., S, Oshawa on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. In memory of Peter, donations to the Temple Building Fund would be greatly appreciated.
