Very sad to hear of Pete's sudden passing. We got to know him when he started his first of many bakeries in Helensville, which is still going strong to this day.
Henry started helping sometimes at night baking bread etc. and they grew a lovely friendship together.
Pete was a hard-working, genuine guy and will be sadly missed.
Our love and sympathy to all his family.
Nan & the late Henry Thompson & Family.

Peter, Crustie as we called you. I remember you as a lad 15 yrs to 20 yrs. Rough and tumble, always a joke, always a smile and a chuckle. Then came the Baking years. You popped up here, there, everywhere. Covered in flour, still the chuckle and smile as you creamed those beautiful doughnuts. You called us Mr and Mrs P.You brought joy to our hearts and will be missed. Mrs P and family

To all Pete's loved ones, family and friends.
I wish you all the love, light and healing while we all go through this process after Pete's passing.
We have had the privilege to have had this very special wonderful, bright and happy soul in our lives. The time we had with him was for some, it was a lifetime or for others only a season.
I was also very honoured to have been with him at the end and watched him ride out on his beloved waves until the end.
He touched us all in his unique way of just being Pete.
His passing has left many of us shocked and devastated to see a life full of energy, optimism and potential to have been cut short at only 58.
His creativity was incredible and his love came through with his passions and baking, his music, guitar playing and singing, his surfing, his love of nature and gardens, his love of the outdoors with his fishing and tramping, His love of animals and his dogs, his spirituality and love of good healthy foods, his gentle caring soul was always helping others and giving selflessly to help when needed. He was a hippy he would say and loved his freedom and liked to be different and not have to follow the norm, He would always just want to be happy and live in the now..
He loved his family and his children and was a great provider with his bakery businesses. As a Father he made that time to spend special times with all of his children and his grandchild. They will treasure these memories they have now from their special unique Dad.
I personally, will never forget the love and life I shared with this man and how his presence in my life has changed me forever.
Mere words can not express the journey I have had with him. I will cherish my memories always. My earth Angel, my love, my best friend, My Pete.
I will see you again soon in our dreams. He used to tell me.. he would see me on the flip side!
My sympathy and love goes to you all in this time of sorrow.
My Love always xxxx
