How well I remember the lunchtimes at Rank Zerox where for so many years Peter and I would take a break and sit and chat putting the world (especially the rowing world) to right and swapping yarns . Those times were such a pleasure and leave fond memories of a special friend. I am so grateful. I share the sadness of Peters family, but the memories bring a smile or two. Thank you Peter-rest easy.

Fond memories and the utmost respect for Peter as a fine rowing coach who gave so much to the young people under his care over so many years, and was committed to the same mantra that drove my late mentor Bill Eaddy - not only do we make good rowers, but we make good citizens too! Thank you too Peter for the friendship and collegiality - there is much to be said for that mutual respect, friendly rivalry and pride in sharing in the lives of so many young people for so many years. It is fulfilling, joyful and an honour.
Easy oar, my friend - and my sincere condolences to family, friends and the saddened Westlake rowing community. There will be many from the Tauranga rowing Club and Tauranga Boys College rowing fraternity who will remember Peter very kindly and share the sadness .

Very sad to hear of Peter's passing. He was a selfless man. I can't imagine how much time he gave over the years to all of us who rowed with him as our coach.
He was totally dedicated to his crew.
