Our thoughts and prayers and with the family. RIP Paul - from the (Newton) Houghton Family. I am Cary, Newton's third son of four and remember Marty Nash building our spiral staircase in Cliff Road, St Heliers, Auckland. Tony Brcich and I visited Paul at his home about 18 months ago, glad I got to say gidday and talk about Dad (Newton)

Between leaving school and entering the police (where my first sergeant was Martin) Paul provided a job at a critical time for me - it was building the Potou school with Jimmy Hannan.

Of Paul I suggest the following well applies:

Footprints on the sands of time."

Paul's legacy extends beyond the Northern Wairoa.
