I was saddened to hear of Paul's passing. I worked closely with Paul on the FRONZ (Federation of Rail Organisations of NZ) executive in the 80's and 90's, and admired his tireless efforts to build a strong heritage rail industry in NZ. That is the legacy Paul has left. Rest in peace, Paul.

To James and family of Paul Dillicar.

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Paul and wish to express our condolences to Paul's family and friends.

For over 40 years, Paul was the driving force behind the Federation of Rail Organisations of New Zealand (FRONZ) and led the organisation from small beginnings to the successful organisation it is today.

Paul set high standards of performance and encouraged others to achieve the same on their respective railways or tramways and was willing to assist with achieving their goals.

Every year at Queen's Birthday weekend FRONZ holds a conference at which the achievements of members around the country are celebrated and this is where Paul was in his element inspiring members to continue the good work and contribute to the preservation of New Zealand's rail heritage which he loved.

His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him during those years and the railway/tramway fraternity will continue to benefit from his exceptional efforts.

So as the whistle blows and the train leaves the station for the last time, we bid farewell to a leader, friend and colleague, haere ra Paul.

I pay tribute to those who have passed before us
I give thanks to those of us living
Greetings to everyone
