Elaine Sandin Obituary

Elaine J. Sandin, 73, of Sutersville, died Friday, May 27, 2005, at Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born June 29, 1931, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Evelyn (Dom) Friggens. She was a resident of Sutersville for 46 years and was involved in town council and ladies auxiliary. She was an avid card player and a member of numerous area card clubs. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Harold Sandin; and four sons, Weston Sandin and wife, Lana, of Elizabeth Township, Paul Sandin, of New Stanton, Darin Sandin and wife, Sheila, of McGuire AFB, N.J., and Todd Sandin and wife, Julie, of Smithton. She will also be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren, Whitney, Sarah, Zane, Olivia, Joseph, Nicholas and Matthew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Hal "Chipper" Sandin, in 1994. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., West Newton. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Elizabeth A. Dunlap officiating. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills Borough.
