My Poppa was a man defined by his cheerfulness and endless ability to chat. There wasn’t a single store in Matamata he could walk into without a merry greeting by name from all the staff and half the customers. He will always be remembered for his hearty chuckle, his love of John Deere, and the warmth of his hug. He was a pillar of my life and I love him with everything that I have.

I will cherish my memories with him now and forever more.

Thank you for everything Poppa, you supported me more than you could ever know.

So sad and shocked to hear of Paul's sudden passing. We have very special memories of our families camping together at Waipu Cove over many years. Also of the welcome we always got when making the trip from Auckland and stopped at Waharoa for a cuppa and catch-up.
Sending all our love.

The whole family loves Poppa so much, so this news has been beyond upsetting.
I'm so thankful that Poppa has been such a big part of my life. My siblings and I always looked forward to every holiday we spent at the farm. He was hard working, kind, and always had a great sense of humour. He taught me about the birds we would spot in the paddocks, riding his John Deere tractors, and dealt with my sneezing fits when in the hay barn.
He was dear to many, and I already miss him so much.

It is with extreme sorrow I have to say goodbye to you Paul.
You were so much more than a father in law, you were and always will be a great mate. Our passions and hobbies were shared alike. My own friends soon became yours. Time on the farm will always be remembered and cherished, especially the beer or two in the back shed with a story and a laugh.
You were the most caring and generous Grandfather to Bradley, Arlena and Maia.
The extra effort you put in to take us on adventures we will all fondly remember forever.

With a heavy heart I say goodbye to my Poppa, however I will never forget what he gave me.
Poppa told me that drinking milk would make my hair curly and I’d grow up to be a big strong girl.
For hours in the gator, he took us down the farm, pointing out diving skylarks with lots of giggles.
Poppa left me with wonderful memories of farm and country life. Stepping on cow pats never could do anything to dull the charm.
In my heart, I know I always have a place for him, down in the farm shed, tinkering away with his tractors while the days go by.
With every memory, I shed another tear. I rejoice knowing he lived a good, strong life, doing what he loved.
I know Poppa will receive all our warm thoughts and wishes.
We love him so much.
