I noticed Pats curtains closed on his house and was sorry to read of his passing.
I was Pats postie for 18 years.
We would often stop and have a chat as he was on his walks around the neighborhood in his blue jacket.
He even used to take care of certain foliage that was hanging over certain letterboxes so I could get in to them.
We always had a laugh and a good yarn.
As he got older I didn't see him as much as he wasn't out on his daily walks anymore but he would always call out if he saw me from his house and he called me his old friend.
I will miss him as he was one of my favourite people in the neighborhood.

I am very sad to hear of Patrick“s passing. For the past year I have been doing his gardens. Over that time we had lots of conversations and laughs together. He loved the Roses. My love and sympathy goes out to the family and also to his loving neighbours and friends. Pam (Crewcut)

Claire,
Ohakea days so long ago, so whilst appreciating this is a bit of a blast from the past I just want to extend my sympathy on the passing of your Dad. As you know we, the Crooks sisters, have been there done that and it is very tough! Mum is still thankfully with us . . . . .
Trust life is treating you well.
With very best wishes,
Margaret Cullen (Crooks)
