Dear Pam, we've been friends almost all of our lives - since our early days in Puniho when Arnold had the Store at the end of the road and I just loved visiting and enjoying the broken biscuits from the tin. Such a treat for me with my sweet tooth. I remember Arnold gave me some material once to make a dress for myself. How generous was that!!
You were my friend from our early days at Okato School when I used to catch the bus at the gate of Grandpa Bell's farm.
We've been close friends and kept in touch all these years and now in our 80's you will no longer be around.
Oh how I will miss you my dear old friend. Getting into mischief, all very harmless I hasten to add. Staying at French St New Plymouth at Grandma Whitehead's house with the sunken glasshouse in the backyard.
Funny old John Pankhurst your Uncle who was a bit "posh". Trying on Janet's clothes when she wasn't home. Sleeping in the caravan out the back of the house. Going to Okato Baths with my Mother. Then you met Ian and he became your husband eventually. He was and is still very lovely to me.
A funning thing was when we worked out that you and Tony were related. His Auntie Eulah was married to Ossie Jensen who had the Jewelry shop -
in Cambridge I think?
Your passing has left a huge hole in my life - we've been such close friends all these years and I will miss enormously Pammy dear.
You will always have a special place in my heart.....
Love forever from Ellie Salla, Lower Hutt NZ. x x x
