Owen Woolley Obituary

Dear Wooley family:
a few years ago, i came into possession of a very fine sailboat by the name of Koru, a multichine steel staysail sloop. after talking with the son of the builder, i learnt that Owen Wooley designed her, supposedly one of his few-and-far-between sailboat designs. i am keen to find out as much about her as is possible, and i was wondering if any member of the Wooley family has any information regarding the vessel or any of the lead up to her build and eventual launch. if you have any information, please contact me at [email protected].

WOOLLEY, Owen. The Raven Owners Association would like to express there sorrow at Owens passing. His Raven Yachts and other boat designs have given many New Zealand and overseas boaties great pleasure for many years. He leaves a great legacy. Russell Wiklund President Raven Owners Association.

Thank you for putting up with me as a teenager and for caring about me as an adult, and for all the quirky and useful things you've taught me over the last 24 years, and for sharing your boats, books (so many books!), brandy, and liquorice, and especially for pruning my roses.
