I worked closely with Norm over many years, and was talking to him only a few days before his passing. He was a man who gained my respect. Always dedicated to Policing. His family should be proud of him. Tony Lee

Dearest Binnie,
We were very upset to hear about Norman's sudden passing and are sending this short message to let you know that we are thinking of you. Though this will be such an incredibly difficult time, you are fortunate to have both Susan and Michael close by to lend their support and bring you some comfort in the days ahead.
Sending you our love and and all our heartfelt condolences.
Lots of love from Patsy, Catherine, Jonathan, David, Lara & family.

What a sad time. We were members of the Ponsonby-HerneBay community committee for years with Norman and Winifred . He even went on a picket line. What a damn shame as Norman was one of the good guys.

My condolences to Norm's family.
At one stage, my boss; later I was a fellow commissioned officer.
That journey was turbulent at times.
Norm earned my respect - few did.
A man his family may be proud of.

Such a lovely person. He was my District Commander when I worked at Auckland Central. Loved and respected by all. Condolences to the family
