Norman McRAE Obituary

We were very fortunate to meet Norman when we lived in Australia. He became a dear friend. His passing saddened us. He will always be remembered by us.

Please accept my sincere condolences. I was Mollie Hartshorne, now Davies. I had the pleasure of living in the house , 1962 and 63. at MT Egremont with Norman and Margaret and children.I was employed to help with the chores and the children.Simon was a baby when I first got there.
I absolutely loved my job along with the whole family, what wonderful people they were and I was always made to feel part of the family.
I have always ment to look up the family and regret not doing so. My own life became very busy with 4 children living on a sheep beef property that Roger managed, and lately in Wairarapa. We have retired in the Tauranga area.You may not even remember me but just wanted to express to you all ,how much I enjoyed living at MT Egremont and the huge respect I had for the family. A wonderful man who brightened everyone's day with his happy disposition and optimism It didn't matter who you were Norman made time for you even if didnt have it. He had a sharp brain and could quickly see the big picture. Meetings with Norman were short and to the point. He lived an amazing life which the family will be very proud. RIP Norman

What began as a business relationship developed into a very special friendship between us which we will always remember and treasure. We have some wonderful memories of time spent together with Norman and Margaret which will be with us always.
