Norman MACDONALD Obituary

Hey Norm what a very sad thing for you to have left this earth with so much life left, I am so glad I spoke to you before things couldn't be said.

Lived down the road from The MacDonalds. in Mountfort Street. We had many family times over our young years, I loved you then and I love you still.Your eyes tell the story.Now with Noel, and your mum and dad.If only we could go back in time and be young again. Jullie Roberston (nee Dale)

I went to school with Norm at James Cook High School in Manurewa, we hunted together in the early 1960 and also enjoyed the coral beaches in Tahiti together, sadly we lost contact after that, was a great mate and am sorry that I didnt catch up with him again. My thoughts are with the family, so sorry to learn of his passing

I had the great pleasure of working with norm to save island species from extinction. Although we only spent about 2 weeks together in the field (see pics below), we caught up by phone every few years and our paths crossed in person a few more times. He played a big role in my life. He was a role model for me because of his soft spoken competence and professionalism. When I supported his bid for the Santa Cruz Island pig eradication, I had no doubt that he would get the job done. My only regret is that we I didn't get to work with him again. Although only my oldest son and wife met him, my three younger children all know him as a legend through the stories I've told them about Norm over the years.

Norm's passing hits me hard. My condolences to his family and other friends. RIP Norm. Bernie Tershy

Norm was a great bloke with good taste in motor bikes yes he did stuff in his life that I´m jealous of . My relationship was through DoC at Kauaeranga , see ya Norm.

Condolences Lulis. I was so sorrry to hear of Norm's passing. He always had a smile on his face an a kind word. It was a pleasure to work with such a gentleman. RIP Norm x
