Nicholas SIMMONS Obituary

Dear Rose, It was lovely meeting you and Nick at an L.B.C. meeting in Hamilton a few years back, and it was great to have Nick as part of our coffee group here in Cambridge. His positivity was surely an inspiration. we'll miss him.
The candlelit vigil was so touching,the speaking, songs and hymns so lovely. We have been thinking of you, Rose.

I have just finished watching the live stream of Nic's funeral and it was a privilege to participate, all be it virtually. You all did him proud. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to catch up with him at Angela's wedding.

We are so sad to hear of Nicks passing.Nick has been a great fighter in trying circumstances.
I will never forget Nick comming out to golf after school and playing a round running between shots.

It's with great sorry I read of Nic's passing. It's been 30 years since Gregory introduced me to his saviour friends Nic and Rose. Rest in peace Nic. Rose and family be comfited with my thoughts.

It seems a long time since Nick first became ill, and yet down those years he was always engaged with life, with people and worthwhile activities. For that, we are all grateful to him, and ask the Lord to reward him as only He can. My prayerful support goes to all who loved him. Peter Cullinane

I was so sorry to hear of this - Nicholas was in the NZ myeloma facebook group and he was always so positive and encouraging to those of us who hadn't had myeloma as long.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

I was lucky enough to have Nick as my history teacher and my cricket coach at St Peter's College, Palmerston North. He was a knowledgeable, encouraging and passionate teacher. Very sad to hear of his early passing.

May we offer our sincere sympathies on the sad passing of Nicholas. Such was his faith and with the blessings of God, he confounded us all and was a true inspiration to everyone he encountered.

Very sad to hear of Nick's premature passing. My thoughts are with the family. I remember him as an enthusiastic teacher during your time at Wanganui Collegiate.

Oh dear Nick, I remember like it was today, our endless doubles tennis games over the summer of 1979/80. We played evenings and weekends at Vautier Park. You with Rose, and me with ........ well the name slips me, but you will remember. We were both so super competitive and both you and I wouldnt give an inch ....... we won and lost some each, but they were ferocious battles ...... far more exciting than the TV spectacles. Out of that we forged a mutual understanding and respect of each other that has stayed throughout the decades.
