Nicholas ORAM Obituary

My condolences. I last saw Nick at Auckland hospital earlier this year. We talked a lot, of Dilworth, of music, of his unit in Onehunga when we went there when he was discharged. Sadly it was the last time

I have known Nicholas for over 40 years. Mostly this was through music. He was a regular at my shop in Newmarket and again when I joined Marbecks in Queens Arcade. He always liked a wide variety of music, mainly classical, and mainly music that some history attached. All the staff at Marbecks knew him. He would try and pop in once a week. Nicholas will be missed.

A very special friend who loved to share his music, his poetry, his drama performances and thought-provoking ideas with our family. We shall miss you, Nicholas.

A gentle soul, intelligent and quirky.

I will always have warm memories of him both from Dilworth and through Mt Eden Quakers.
