Nicholas MATICH Obituary

Since we were boys and at school together at SHC we have always been friends as were our families.And in latter years our holidays every summer at Baylys we shared hours in chatter.You will always be remembered.

So sorry to hear this news, a friend for a very long time, a surfer to the very end.

RIP Nick, among your many works you leave behind a great legacy of nature protection through your work with QEII. It was great knowing and working with you, thanks for all the advice and tips.

Sorry to see we lost a wonderful surfer a bit too soon.
So many good times with Nick we know he loved life to the fullest.
From the early days up north at shippies and Whangarei he showed how to surf with style and speed.
And driving that mini like a Ferrari.
One memorable after work trip to Waipu Cove Nicks fuel pump stopped so he had me holding a fuel bottle out the window with connection hose into the carb.
He both got to surf ok.
That’s commitment he always had.
