'AND THE GRASS WONT PAY NO MIND'
We are blessed with hidden 'Gems' that turnup in the oddest places:
NEIL WYLIE is among the few, who not only turned up, but made it his business to get on with the job.
An honour to have had Neil as our 'Farm Agent' was a Godsend. Introducing his expertise and knowledge, Leasing the Farm.
A farm in a isolated location and not long returned to the multiple owner's.
Run by a trust board of nine members, a majority of who reside in Auckland, a first for this trust board to release the farm.
The day Neil Wylie arrived here and met my late Husband Bruce and I, we imagined he may stay for a coffee and cake, but how wrong we were.
He drove all this way and left late that afternoon, his notepad full of entries and waved a cheery goodbye.
Within the two years we had the pleasure working along side Neil and getting to know him, he briefly shared snippets of Family and Home, he so fondly shared with Bruce and I. A quietly spoken and private Gentleman, Neil became very relaxed and familiar in the comfort of our home, here on Pouto.
Pouto peninsula is an hour 'off the beaten track', like travelling by road to an island on the Kaipara.
But Neil would turnup for his appointment, as though Kerikeri was just up the road. Thats how comfortable he made us all feel and a pleasure to look forward to.
I can still see Neil sitting in our lounge, enjoying a good chat over coffee and cake, his notepad neatly to one side.
His jolly manner taking us thru the tasks on the day, like an 'Executive Chef' setting out the menu for a banquet, effortlessly.
Neil Wylie is proficient in his own right a kind and fair Gentleman, who shared his knowledge with ease and enthusiasm; how could you not be a stranger.
For Your Dear Wife & Loved Family
Sincere Blessings.

Sad news indeed. Have not seen Neil for many many years when our families lived in Keri Keri. Passing on our heart felt condolences to the family on behalf of the late Ross & Myra Veale and their children Kathryn, Sandra, Russ & Colleen.

Neil was a highly respected friend who exhibited all of the true qualities of a great man. He was an inspriational leader who swept those he contacted along for a ride that was always fun. Neil was very inclusive, kind, respectful, positive, tenacious, resilient and exhibited maasive levels of integrity. Above all Neil loved having and sharing fun.
RIP Grizz, thanks for the share, its been a priviledge to be part of your influence on how to live life. You will always be fondly remebered.

Tauranga Masters vs. Cambridge Antiques 22 November 2020

Neil was an outstanding club man and captain who led the resurgence of the Western Bay of Plenty Golden Oldies, now the Tauranga Masters. Neil was also was hugely influential at the Cambridge Antiques. For both clubs he was an outstanding run gatherer, often undefeated with short innings to retirements and beyond, full of sixes and brutal hitting. The two teams met last Sunday at the beautiful Cambridge Square where Neil was recognised for his outstanding contribution to both clubs. All players paid tribute to Neil in a minutes silence before the game. The game as always, was played in excellent spirits, the result to be conveyed in the yet to be released Match Report, Neil no doubt will have a wee giggle when reading it.
Neil's commitment to the Tauranga Masters was at multiple levels; players, ex players, their extended families, groundsman, in short everyone was included and valued at the community. On the field was just the reason.
Neil will be fondly remembered by all now and future generations at the Tauranga Masters, rest well Skip.

WYLIE, Neil Andrew. On 21st November 2020. Much loved and respected son-in- law of Ngaire and loved brother to Lorraine and Renier, Graeme and Fiona and uncle of Daniel and Kane, Elijah and Amelie. Your time with us will be forever memorable but sadly far too short. Rest peacefully, Neil.
