I was shocked to learn of my old mate Neil's passing 3 months after the event. I have been trying to contact Neil by phone & have knocked on his door a couple of times since i last saw him in late July at a Rugby game we watched together where he spoke of going for a holiday to Japan .I have been good friends with Neil for 45 plus years when we met at a Plastics Company where he was called as a Maintenance Electrician to sort out the problems with the machines. As single young fellows we clicked & had many good times in pursuit of young ladies & fun.Neil's passion was Rugby & on one occasion i visited him in Sydney where he played for the Sydney Welsh Rugby club.We had a bus trip with the club to watch Auckland play Gosford where the Sydney welsh club played the curtain raiser.I will never forget the singing on the way there & back.
Rest in peace old mate. You will be sadly missed

I am extremely saddened to learn of the recent passing of Neil. I first met Neil over 50 years ago when we played in the same rugby team. We were best of mates for many, many years. I can remember, on many occasions walking from his home in Sandringham to Eden Park to watch games and later on watching many games from my corporate box. We watched hundreds of club games and had many beers on Friday nights in the city. I met up with Neil a few times in Sydney and Surfers Paradise where we had enjoyable times. His big passion was rugby and especially supporting and watching Wales rugby good fortunes. Rest well in the grandstand high up in the sky Neil, and continue to enjoy the rugby....
