Neil DEASON Obituary

DEASON, Neil Russell (Neil). Born October 6, 1961. Died on December 23, 2023. Neil died suddenly after a devastating illness. He was the beloved father of Campbell and his partner Srishti, much loved partner of Lesley and stepfather to Kathryn and Richard, dearly loved son of Donald and Adelene, dearly loved brother of Julie, Helen, and Heather, dearly loved brother-in-law of Jim, Mark, and Gary, loved uncle of Charlotte and Alice. According to Neil's wishes a private family cremation will be held with a memorial service to follow at a later date. Contact Julie 0212673794.

On behalf of all the past members who knew Neil, we are saddened by this news, as Neil was a member of the Suburbs Blue 77KG restricted side in the 1980s & also played for Auckland 77KGs as well as a long-time member of the Lizards Touch Team. I had the opportunity to coach and play with Neil and in the summer play tennis with him... always a man of few words, but when he spoke we listened...he was a dedicated sportsman and a successful QS in his working life so to "Shirley" (his nickname due to his curly hair) RIL.
