BUTTERFLY GIRL
The girl we once knew was a butterfly
With wings that gleamed in the sun.
Flying high on the breeze of the life she lived,
Loving laughter, loving fun.
She had dreams for today and the future too,
And great memories from the past,
And she never forgot all those golden days,
But the good times couldn't last.
There are shadows in the world
And places dark and cold
To touch and bruise the fragile wings
Wings once bright and bold.
They fluttered in the dark,
They couldn't reach the sky,
The butterfly was caught,
Couldn't fly, couldn't fly…..
But... we'll remember her as a butterfly,
The way she wanted to be,
Remember her with the painted wings,
A butterfly flying free.
We'll remember her as our butterfly,
And the way she wanted to be,
We'll remember her with her painted wings,
Forever flying free.

From endless sleepovers in your double bed as teens,
To sleepovers at the Foxes almost every weekend it seemed,
Wasn't Virginia's deep fried camembert just the best!
Along with the laughter, tears of broken hearts and all round teen stress,
Then came the years at polo and those endless rum and cokes,
The tight jeans and boots seemed the uniform for us both,
And of course I would be remiss not to mention the smokes,
What amazing times we had out in the countryside,
Those ultra crazy boys bringing us along for the ride,
Next thing we know we're motoring on the seas,
Thanks to Captain Pugwash who we thought knew the breeze,
The Bay of Islands memories so special downing those non-stop Dakaris,
On the back of the boat singing Elton's All Quiet on the Western Front with a hazy ease,
Those sweet memories are what I savour of the best times together,
Those sweet memories to see you giggling and smiling - such a treasure,
Nat you were pure, you were kind, you were loyal and devoted,
You could be counted on always not to mention being so clever,
The creation of Visage was at best a champion's challenge,
And you gunned it all the way, smart, wise and so full of talent,
I am gutted we lost touch over the years with my move to Aus so long ago
I am gutted we have lost you way way too soon gorgeous girl,
But you will always be in my heart - beautiful Nat I bid you a loving farewell,
Until we meet again sweet angel - up amongst the stars - this time as souls.
Love you always, Suzy xxxxxxx

Natalie, I haven't seen you for years, but remember you so well especially in history at school!
You had such energy and a great sense of fun!
I remember the mascara and beautiful long nails.
Nights at the Empire , lots of stories! So sorry that you died so young, my condolences to your family.

I miss you now, more than before. Why when something's gone do you want it more?
Life can be cruel, but it makes you strong, to deal with the pain of losing the one.
I know where you are can hold no fears, but our memories on earth still bring me tears.
Each day I wake to think of you, your hilarious laughter still rings true.
I have your photo beside my bed,a constant reminder of our friendship we shared.
For I am thankful for every while, we spent together, you made me smile.
And now you rest with god above, your heart so full of eternal love.
Forever in my thoughts, I miss you dearly.
Until we meet again Nat Brat
