Miss Reed was my 3rd form teacher during Term 2 of 1980, at Te Puke High School, as well as my English teacher. I was the only student from class who went with her and her friends to an ensemble one night; unfortunately, I fell asleep at the end, but she was still very gracious to me. I've always wanted to let her know that I've been singing in two choirs since 1996 ... I'm a tenor, and am hoping to go further with my singing, having been trained by a former student of Sister Mary Leo's. I'm so sad to see that Miss Reed passed away last year. She was a beautiful teacher, as well as gentle, especially with a rowdy class like 3R in 1980. God bless you, Miss Reed and thank you for the pleasure of your teaching us in 1980. I will always have pleasant and fond memories of that time. Love to all her whanau and friends. Mahuika Hotene
