Myrie was a free spirit, and I remember when she came to visit us with Sara. Her smile was felt before she even entered the room, and her soul was a healing one, her laugh free and her humour could brighten even the darkest room. Her spirit carries on throughout everyone that knew her, and Courtney, our thoughts are with you at this time.

I remember when Myrie came to visit us with Sara, the warmth of her smile and the way she could brighten a room just by being there. She fought hard, right to the end, and some of that spirit is definitely visible in Courtney and all the people that knew her. She touched my heart, and the hearts of many, with her unique spirit.

My cousin and friend, time and distance may have separated us all, but the memories that Annette and I share of the wonderful fun we had living up the street from Myrie...spur of the moment road trips to Opotiki, and the huge excitement of welcoming Courtney into your life will never fade.

Myrie was a much loved cousin and friend of the late Patsy McLean (née Marks) and husband Clarrie. She is remembered fondly by their daughters Sharron, Annette, Merryl, Julie & Erin. Always remember her at family gatherings with a smile on her face and chuckling with Mum over their private little jokes. Deepest sympathy and love to Courtney and family and to Sarah and family.
