Hey Murray...if you are reading this in the big sofa in heaven...thanks for coaching the Four Petes (Godwin Scammell Clark and Johnson) all those years ago.
I know we were difficult sods on odd occasions (and maybe a few more)and we seemed never to go up!
We Petes are now all married to great and forgiving wives have families and into our late 50's and I can finally report we have finally grown up.
I can tell you now that your efforts were not in vain..we all went on and made successes of our sporting and personal lives...thanks to you in many ways.
I am in touch with Johno, Scam and Clarky..and on odd occasions Barrie Swarbrick.
Thanks Murray..when the crew gets back together we will charge our glasses and toast you and your good family.

To Lane and Family,
This a very hard email to write. I've just been looking through the photo album and one of my lasting memories is of Murray standing next to the four the rowing club named after him.
A very quiet and patient man.He would have to be to coach and put up with the four Pete's.
Lane could you pass on my regards to all your family.Pete Johnson 'Johno'

Hi Lane Gaye and Jan,
I am very sorry to hear that Murray has passed away,
I am sorry to have lost touch with both your parents.
Murray had to put up with a lot from us while coaching us.We benefited immensely from all his hard work.
I would love to be at the service but my health is not too good at this time.
Joan and I have lived in Marlborough for the past 15 years and lost a lot of contacts.
I would love to make contact if you have a chance my cell number is 021 423 987 or email [email protected] I dont do face book
My thoughts are with you all
Peter Clark from the 4 Petes
