Murray - a dear friend indeed since April 1984. Whilst dairy farming in Ruawai he was also an area manager for a cattle artificial breeding company. Part of this job was to train farmers to become AB technicians over 5 day courses. I qualified at a course in Waitoki but was apprehensive about transferring my newly gained knowledge out into the 'real' farming world. Murray was always full of encouragement eg. "You can do it! I'm only a phone call away."

We kept in contact over the 30 years and I relish the happy phone chat we had 2 days before his sad passing.

A genuine friend - happy, helpful, humour, kindness - just a few of his exceptional qualities. I treasure the very special memories of a very special man. You had so much more living to do. RIP my dear friend.

Murray, such a loving man in his own way.We shared some great times.Long talks about all sorts of things, you made me happy, and even agreeing to a picnic on the back steps in the sunshine albeit under sufferance. You were such a lovely man and I'll always miss you,but as I write this I am smiling, remembering your words."I'll learn'em".I guess this time Murray,THEY learned you-but don't give up-you keep 'learning them!I guess we won't be holding that'surprise'party for you this year now.Special hugs and love from me-Lynda xxx
