Murray DAY Obituary

DAY, Murray Charles (O.B.E.). Murray passed away peacefully at home, with family, on 18 March 2022; aged 90 years. Most cherished husband for 65 years of Ann. Much loved brother and brother-in-law of Heather and David. Devoted and totally supportive father and father-in-law of Robert and Angela, Peter and Ruth. Extremely proud grandfather of Lewis, Hugo, Fraser and Monty. Murray will be farewelled at a private family service. A memorial service to celebrate Murray's life will be announced in due course when restrictions allow. A great man, husband, brother, father, grandfather and quiet supporter of so many people and communities. He will be dearly missed

My sympathy with the Day family recalls the many pleasant hours with you and Ann at mt maunganui and on your tennis court. You had a strong urge to not only play sport but also to contribute to sport management in many ways . Well done Murray. You will be remembered.

I recall Murray and his mate Tony Hilton organising the golf days at Te Kauwhata between the Waikato Accountants and the Auckland branch. Always a happy time even when it rained.

Dearest Ann - we are so sad to lose Murray. You and he have always been there for us. Our loving thoughts are with you, Rob, Pete and families. Please let us know when you will be able to have a Memorial service for Murray. Our love always.
