Murray ARMSTRONG Obituary

ARMSTRONG, Murray John. August 13th 1930 - June 28th 2013. Peacefully at home surrounded by his family, after a long battle bravely and quietly endured. Son of the late Benjamin and Kate Armstrong. Treasured husband of Barbara, and dearly loved father of Bronwyn, Diane, and Gordon. Respected father in-law and friend of Michael, Elliot, Brent and Pauline. Much loved granddad of Ashlee, Tara, Brearna, Bowen, Max and Madison. A loved and loving husband, father and grandfather; a loyal and trusted friend and colleague. A service for Murray will be held in the Chapel at Newberrys Funeral Home, cnr of Kamo Road and Moody Ave, Whau Valley, Whangarei. On Wednesday, June 3rd 2013 at 1.00pm, followed by a private cremation. A grateful thanks to Dr Tulio Testa, Hospice, especially Judy and Collegues; and wonderful carers Andrew and Martin, for their Support during Murray's illness. In lieu of flowers, donations in Murray's name made directly to North Haven Hospice, PO Box 7050, Tikipunga, Whangarei, Would be appreciated. ARMSTRONG, Murray John Born 13-08-1930. Passed away on 28-06-2013. Passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, strong and brave to the last. Much loved father and grandfather to Gordon and Pauline, Max and Madison. Dedicated family man and husband, a true gentleman and man of integrity who will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Sail under clear skies dad and thank you for a wonderful life well lived.

ARMSTRONG, Murray John 28th June 2013. In his 83rd year. Sailed away on the rising tide. Bravely and peacefully at home with all his family, surrounded by love. Much loved Father and Grandad of Bronwyn and Elliott, Brearna and Bowen. Life long friend of Elliott's parents, Murray and Dora Crawford, (deceased). A quietly strong, hardworking, gentle and wonderful man throughout his long, full and happy life. Dad you were a family man to the end. Thank you for all your love and support. Always in our hearts and memories.
