To dear Jennifer and family
I hold fond memories of your family and will always be grateful for the generosity and kindness shown by your family when I was a young Aussie mum new to the area living down the end of Ross Road. I shared many a lunch with Murdoch Anne and Mervyn who would always make us welcome sharing wonderful memories of the area and never leaving without a box of home grown produce
Such a blessing and much appreciated
Sending love to you
Hazel

Although I haven't seen much of Murdoch over the years, I grew up in the Waikato hearing wonderful stories from my Mum, Zoe Northmore (nee Mallabond) of Parua Bay and all the wonderful and interesting families that lived there. My mum and her siblings grew up on the farm at Rukuwai and then Murdoch's parents, Annie & Mervyn, bought the farm from my granddad Leonard Mallabond. I've known Murdoch all my life and always admired his wonderful positive attitude and resilience. Rest peacefully Murdoch.

I really enjoyed meeting you Murdoch when I came to visit you at the farm with my Aunty Zoe (nee Mallabond) and my mum Gretchen Mallabond. It was so lovely to hear some of the old farm stories and to have a chuckle together over past escapades that had happened at the farm with your family and also with my granddad Leonard and my dad Leslie Mallabond. It was also really good to visit your sister Jennifer on her olive orchard at another time. RIP my friend.
