Mike GODFREY Obituary

I wish I had known him, he sounded like a real doctor and they are so rare like a rare diamond in the rough, someone must pen a book about him. He will be in the best place ever. heart heart.

I was just drafting an email to Mike and for some reason thought it wise to check on his health.
I have been privileged to meet some great men and Mike was one of the top couple.
You seemed immortal my friend and I feel that way now myself 22 years after we met and you gave me hope.
Now I have met my grandsons which seemed most improbable back then and they are growing into good young men. That I am here to pen this is down to the counsel you gave me.
I still take selenium drops and shun dairy products but other than that I am a shocker with coffee and alcohol.
Rest easy Mike you have earned a holiday

My sincere condolences to Mike's family and friends, I have just found out of his passing. It has been a very long time since I saw Mike last both personally through our spiritual beliefs and as a Doctor. Our family remain ever grateful for your incredible intellect and care in the treatment of our daughter 20 years ago, I don't know what we would have done without you. Rest in peace Mike, go well. I first saw Dr Godfrey in the 1990s and with my young son, we´d travel up from Wellington occasionally. He was a kind, caring, respectful, and practical Doctor who truly cared for his patients. He stood up for his medical ethics. I am eternally grateful for the assistance he gave us, and for bringing Thermography to NZ.

I met Dr Godfrey, as expected, as a patient of his. This man saved my life! He taught me so much about health, science, medicines of all kinds and kindness. I so appreciated his dedication to me personally and I am sure that there are many others like me who feel the same way. I thanked him one day for saving my life and he looked at me in a questioning way and said, 'I was only doing my job'. He didn't compromise his stand in any way in the face of adversity and I'm glad he didn't. My deepest sympathy goes to his whole family at this sad time. May God comfort you all.

My sadness to read tonight of Mike´s passing in the wonderful tribute to him from NZDSOS. He was a living example to me of a medical doctor who brought keen critical thinking into his healing approach and he was exceedingly strong in standing by his knowledge and experience in the midst of the prevailing medical system. My heart goes out to you in your personal loss. And our Tauranga community and beyond has lost a profoundly wise and remarkable leader in true healing. Rest In Peace Mike.

Dr Godfrey blessed me and my mokopuna by listening to us and providing us with excellent holistic care. His humble caring and compassionate nature will always be remembered with gratitude. I knew Mike for many years through Fluoridation work. He was a man I held in the the highest respect and admiration, both as a person and for his wide knowledge of so many important things the establishment tries to keep from us. As the Maori saying goes "A great Totara has fallen".

I never had the pleasure of meeting Dr Mike Godfrey, I know the world is a better place for having a pioneer in natural health. your knowledge will be passed onto many. I have used the Thermography Clinic in CHCH for many years, this is such a great service. Condolences to your wife and family.

Mike was an inspiration to many and will be missed, I am blessed to have met him and shared the fraction of time I did. Blessings to Dr Mike Godfrey´s family, may his soul rest in heavenly peace, watching over you all.

All my condolences to the Godfrey family.

Mike was a great doctor who dared. He also contributed so much to the Fluoride Free movement in NZ. I remember the time that Mike accepted my invitation to speak to our Howick Pakuranga and Districts Grey Power association committee about water fluoridation. Along with Laurie Brett he addressed us after traveling from his home in Tauranga to address us in Auckland, all at no cost to us.

Mike and I also enjoyed philosophical conversations.

Dr Godfrey loved his children and their friends. Everyone was always welcome. Mike wanted the best and the best health for all. He practised what he preached.

Dr Mike Godfrey was a true hero. He put truth and the welfare of patients above all else. Dr Godfrey has given a huge amount to the people of this country. So many people were healed by him and so many others learnt how to avoid harm. The amount of work he did in service of others was exceptional.
Mike was a highly valued committee member of Fluoride Free New Zealand for many, many years. On many occasions he gave talks about fluoridation and its harms, as well as presenting at local councils and the Select Committee Hearings in 2017. Among his many other writings on fluoride, he co-authored a research paper that tested the fluoride levels in all the common teas in New Zealand.
Dr Godfrey will be sorely missed.

When I felt trapped in the pharmaceutically driven, industrial-medical-complex he was there, shining a light to guide the way to real healing modalities.
