My sincere condolences go out to Sheila's family and friends, as they experience the loss of such a dear, beautiful lady. I was blessed to receive counselling from Sheila. She was a frankly strong, down-to-earth person of great wisdom and a great, kind heart. I remember Sheila's love of ideas, tradition, art, music, poetry, books, fashion, flowers, and food--the genuine interest and pleasure she took in people and all their varied adventures--her boundless creative curiosity. No troubles, infirmity or pain ever took those joys away from her. I don't think Sheila had any illusions about life but she loved and lived it to the fullest all the same. She will remain a source of inspiration, courage, and firm principle in the thoughts and memories of all who knew her.

If this is the Sheila MacKay who worked at Shawbridge youth centres in the 80's, I had the pleasure of having her as my friend. She was always kind, caring and most of all generous with me. Although many years have passed, I thought of her often, especially when going through files. I kept all the cards and notes she ever wrote me. She knew how to lift my spirits all the time with kind words and advise and flowers. She used to call me la Bella Rosa . Please accept my deepest sympathies for your great loss. Erik, can you please send me an email at [email protected] if this was your mom? Thanks
