Michael Arne SANDELIN

Michael SANDELIN Obituary

SANDELIN, Michael Arne. (1938-2014) On Wednesday 18 June in his 77th year. Peacefully after a short illness. Much loved father of Mark, Kate and Brigit. Grandpa of Annie and Fred, Bella and Jemima, Olivia, Jamie and Jack. Father-in-law to Perry, Ian and Catherine.(Sam) Brother of Gaye Field and the late Peter Sandelin. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff and management of Remuera Rise care facility and Tanya of Mercy Hospice College Hill for their superb care and attention of Mike. In lieu of flowers donations to Mercy Hospice, PO Box 47-693, Ponsonby, Auckland, would be much appreciated. A service for Mike will be held at St Aidan's Anglican Church, 5 Ascot Ave, Remuera on Tuesday 24th June at 2pm.

I am sad that I was not able to see Mike one last time.. I was due to see him on my way overseas for an extended period, when I heard he had passed.

Mike was someone I grew to know over the last 20 odd years. We shared many a fishing trip with some special friends. Our most intrepid trip was to Kiribati... How did we survive?

Mike, I will miss your company on the next trip up the Ruakaturi. I will miss your wit, and your sage comments about life. The first bottle of red we will drink to you! God Bless.

February 1951 first day Christchurch boys high I first met Mike and have had a continued friendship. He will be missed by his family and many friends. May he rest in peace.

I was Michael's secretary from 1968 to 1970. My sympathies to his family. I remember Michael with much fondness as a boss and was very saddened to read of his passing.
