Dear Madge and family
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Mike.
We will miss Mike's chats over the fence, chats that he could hardly hear but he nodded and grinned anyway.
We watched him sit on the back deck in the sun, gazing at the ocean each day and thought, "this man has had a great life".
Sending you much love
Trevor and Christine

Mike you were such a master of the art of living happy. You infected so many of us with your sense of humor and good nature. Thank you for your friendship and teaching so much about a lot of things and your secret fish call a real hummer of a trip. We will all see you on the other side soon enough. Allan Johnston

Our sincere condolences to Madge and all her extended family after the sad loss of Mike.
He was a fantastic character,a fund of stories and excellent company.
We will really miss him and our visits to Mangonui will never be the same again.
We loved listening to his fund of rugby and fishing stories and his knowledge of the Far North.
Mike was a generous man and his passing means life has lost a mighty Kauri of Northland.
Rest in peace!
