Was very sad to read this by chance in the Herald while in Auckland three weeks ago. You will be missed, Mike.

My condolences to Michael's loved ones. Michael was a great character, friendly and welcoming. I will always remember the 2008 Candidate North Shore meetings among other Libz related outings. I will miss him. May he rest in peace.

Michael was so wonderfully, delightfully dedicated to the theatre. He was such a joy to act with, hilarious, cheeky and always willing to give something a go. He was so generous of spirit, one had only to look how dedicated he was to tiger the theatre cat. He will be sorely missed, but his memory will last in everyone who treads the boards of his beloved theatre. We love you Michael, you were truly one of a kind!

A beautiful man. Your spirit will live on. Your smile remains.

'What, shall we stab him as he sleeps?' 'No; then he will say 'twas done cowardly, when he wakes', 'when he wakes!?'

There is no way a person could forget this man. I have seen him in outfits that burn in my memory for one! Ha. Theatre brings such richness to one's life , and Mike was all in for all of what that offered. He gave so much with tireless energy. What a life to remember. Thank you Mike for all of you! Cherished forever.

MURPHY, Michael Myles "The Lamp is shattered and the light in the dust lies dead!" Michael was a leading light on and off the stage at The PumpHouse Theatre. A wicked smile and a twinkling eye he was a great personality in so many shows and will be dreadfully missed by his fellow actors and thespians, both young and old and North Shore audiences. "We few - we happy few - we band of brothers..." for so we were in all those happy shows be they Shakespeare, panto, comedy or mystery. Shoreside Theatre members applaud you and thank you for being part of our story.

MURPHY, Michael Myles. Much loved father of Louise and Pops to Tegan, Brenwyn, Finley, Campbell and Ngaire. Thou know'st 'tis common; all that lives must die, passing through nature to eternity. Enjoy eternity Pops.
