Michael MORONEY Obituary

MORONEY, Michael Denis. 6 June 1958 - 27 February 2025 Passed away peacefully at his home in Melbourne. Dearly loved partner of Karen, loving eldest son of Mary and the late Denis (Denny), proud father and father-in-law of Aliesha and Chad, and adoring grandfather to Lincoln and Macey. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Catherine (deceased), Paul, Sue and Shane, and Brendon. Cherished uncle to Melissa, Dominic, Quinn and Logan. A kind, caring and passionate man, Michael touched the hearts of everyone he met. A service to celebrate his life will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Matamata on Monday 17 March at 11am.

I met Mike at an Eagle farm Stradbroke meeting through my best mate Krow Ronaki of Te puke NZ .It was with a heavy heart I read the news that Mike had passed away. Krow and I shared a passion for horse racing in NZ and Australia. We had a dream that one day we would own and race a horse good enough to win a Melbourne Cup just like Mike did in the 2000 cup with Brew. By the way Mike won the Stradbroke that day. We all celebrated later that night sharing a humble diner. Condolences to Mike´s Whanau.
