We (Gary and Lou) had the absolute pleasure to travel to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan with Michael on a tour last year. We were lucky enough to be in the same vehicle for the entire trip so we got to know him a little. What a wonderful man, great photographer, delightfully dry wit, vehicle companion extraordinaire and just a really good guy. Our thoughts go to Michael’s family at this sad time, particularly Pauline who Michael talked about often.

Lellman, Michael. It is with great sadness that I acknowledge the passing of my uncle Michael Lellman, who left us at the age of 84 on Friday the 6th of February 2026. Michael was a kind and gentle sole, always helping friends, neighbours or just giving back to the community. Michael was a devoted and loved husband to Pauline, a loved older brother to John and loved brother-in-law to Robyn. He was a wonderful uncle to Philippa and myself (Karl), and a kind and loving great uncle to Ben, Tom, Natalie, Sebastian, Gabriel, Elliot and Oscar. Michael's final act of kindness helping out a neighbour and friend with their boat is a testament to the way he lived his life. Uncle Michael will be loved and missed.
