Dear Shaun, and the rest of the Kearney family, we were shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Michael. Please accept our deepest sympathy also to Michael's wife Perly, and his children Stephen, Eunice and Sophia. We pray you'll know the strength of the Lord to get through this difficult time. In 1973 we first new Michael at New Life Fellowship. It was during those five years Mary and I got to know and grow fond of the Kearney family. Sometimes Michael would have a play day at our home or Andrew would have a day with Michael. This gave us the opportunity to get to know him and found Michael a reserved young boy with a lovely smile. Years later we met up with the Kearney family in Australia and resumed the friendship. When I was building our house at Tanah Merah in 1992, Michael was working with Paul to prepare the slab. He worked consistently and with enthusiasm which resulted in a first-class job.
May these passages of scriptures bring peace and assurance that death of Michael is not the end and he is safe with our Lord Jesus. This in itself suggest a home coming: indeed, a rejoining of loved ones who had gone on before. The apostle Paul indicated that being absent from the body, is present with the Lord. Well spoken is our beloved Lord when He said, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, he that hears My word, and believes on Him that sent Me, HAS EVERLASTING LIFE, and shall not come into condemnation; but is PASSED FROM DEATH UNTO LIFE' John 5:24. That is exactly what happens and we can sing and rejoice Death is swallowed up in victory.
May the Lord bless you and comfort you and that you will know His peace that passes all understanding. With God's love Andy and Mary.
