Mike. Damn. This must be my third attempt.
Our families were closely linked though our dear dad.
We had some great times, but sadly not enough.
I never forget seeing you after a long time when you came back from France. Long hair, ponytail, and something I never knew, music.
To have a love of music, you had an incredible warm heart.
It is so sad, that in our lives, we have mates which sometimes we forget. Not meaning too, but just that life goes on. It's only when something like this happens, that you look at yourself, and realise that life is not very long.
I like to say "its a part of getting younger."
First we start in nappies, and then we end up in them.
Mike, you were too young to go mate.
Not too far away, my time to hop on the big starship will come. When I dock, I hope to see you playing for me on the dockside and with all my other mates, guiding us to the nearest tavern to sample the local brews.
Take care, swift flight, happy landing buddy.
Give my love to mum and dad.
Junie would love to give hers too.

I think i've already sent one before Mike.
In case I pushed the wrong button, I'll try again.
Our families have always been very close.
As kids, we played together, then life went on.
I never forget seeing you in a ponytail when you came back from France.
Your stories of what you had done, love of music, wow. Very rich experience mate.
It is so sad to loose anyone, but more sad, when we are so engrossed in ourselves and what we are doing, that we loose track of all our mates. But this is how this busy life goes eh?
Mike, when my final voyage ends and we dock at the final wharf, I want you to be there with all my other mates and family.
Then let's all go to the closest tavern and sample some of heavens brew!
Swift flight mate. Take care and watch us from above.

Michael, you were a large part of our lives while we lived in Auckland but we lost touch and your obituary was not a good way to find out where you were. We will miss you.
