To Ann, Matthew, Sean and family, so sorry about Michael´s passing. I have very fond memories of my uncle Mick down in Cahir - he always had something fun lined up for us. My mother, Mary, always warning him not to get us into any trouble! Mick would give us a little wink, and we knew an adventure was in store. Go raibh suaimhneas siorai air. Colman O´Loghlen, Dublin.

Dear Ann, Matthew, Danielle and Mabel, Sean, Kirsten, Iris and Otis,
We are so very sad at Michael's passing. He has been such a dear friend and a wonderful godfather to Aislinn. Mick was always so supportive of our children, especially their Irish dancing and music, and he always took a great interest in all five of them. His generosity and sense of humour knew no bounds and we have wonderful memories of great times spent together. Always, lots of memories of Cahir were central to the conversations. How lucky our kids were to have Michael's presence in their lives, and Iris, Otis and Mabel - you were so fortunate to have such a wonderful grandfather! We will miss him deeply. A mighty totara has fallen for the Auckland Irish community and for us all. Rest in peace, Michael.
With love, Willie and Kathleen Ryan, Jeremy, Eleanor, EJ, Caitlin and Aislinn (Wellington)

Dear Anne, Mathew and Sean your families and Michael's extended family and and friends in Ireland ,New Zealand and around the world.
Its with sadness today I learned the news of Michael's passing on Tuesday.
All the memories came flooding back of the many kindnesses he and you extended to me when I visited New Zealand in 1984. Michael and his family truely lived the trait of Minding your fellow countryman in afar off land. Our Parents were friends ,our siblings were friends and stands to reason we would be friends too. We came from the same place and so shared a social history of stories,of people and of place that made our conversation easy and welcome .
He gave me space to experience this new country but the security to know that I had a friend watching out for me. He surprised me by cooking this amazing meal on the ocassion of my birthday in 1984. He welcomed my new found friends to his Batch on the Manly Peninsula and extended his hospitality in a thousand ways. In the years since wishful return trips to New Zealand never materialized as life got in the way. Michael's kindness has never been forgotten.

Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss.May he rest in peace and know that his thoughtfullness lives on in our memory
