Michael FARMAN Obituary

FARMAN, Michael John. A beloved father and talented veteran journalist, has passed at the age of 82 after a long and colourful life. Mike was born in England on November 11, 1942, to policeman Herbert Lewis Farman and devoted mother Olive Madeline Farman, nee Shuttle. He was the younger brother of Sally and Janet Farman. Mike lived an amazing life, moving from Suffolk to London, Hambledon and eventually New Zealand. He was a brilliant journalist, working for household names including the London Evening Standard, the BBC, TV3 and TVNZ. He passed away on October 16, 2025, maintaining his sharp wit and larger-than- life personality, after a short hospitalisation following a stroke. He remains immensely loved by his family. He is survived by his daughters Charlotte and Madeleine. A private ceremony is being held to honour Mike's life.
