Our sincere condolences to the Fairhurst Family especially to Jannine and the boys. It was such a shock to hear the sad news while we are away overseas and won´t be able to attend his service. We were so privileged to have both Mike and you Jannine, at my retirement in April, such special memories. I´m thankful i got to have lunch with Mike when he was last in Napier on a job just a few weeks ago. I will miss his telephone calls and cheeky sense of humour.

So sorry to hear of Michaels passing. We had a lot of fun growing up in primary school. He had great character and was good at anything he did.

My sincere condolences to the Fairhurst Family. I was deeply saddened to hear of Mikes passing, I will miss our catchups, commissioning projects together , fishing and diving yarns and just good banter. Such a great kind intelligent guy that always had time for people .

My heartfelt condolences to the whole Fairhurst family! I am deeply saddened and shocked to hear this news. Mike was a joy to work with at Schneider in Hamilton with a wonderful sense of humour and just an all round great guy. He even shared his scallops with me ! Lots of love and sympathy to Jannine and the boys. You are all in our thoughts.

Our condolences to all the family and friends of Michael. The Great times and experiences I had with Michael and Colin will be with me for Life. As a cousin with my older sister Mel we were all within approx 5 years of each other.They had a very enviable upbringing I would get a taste of on Holidays. Fishing, Hunting , spotlighting, Trapping, Driving machinery, etc and the Freedom of the great wide open on Uncle Neils and Aunty Margrets Farms. The boys were also fortunate To have 2 strong younger sisters in Sandra and Maree to push back and not let them have it all their own ways. Testimony to Michaels leadership, competence and ability, we never got hurt or lost no matter how stupid we were being, how far we had wandered or how many batteries had gone flat. Good laughs and Good memories. Thanks Mike.

I am saddened to here of the passing of Mike, a life taken far to young, even though I have not seen Mike in years the images and conversations are very clear of the type of person he was. I worked with mike and Maree at UBP in Te Kuiti the two of them are memories of a special part and time in my life, my sincere condolences your whole family.
